There are also many outstanding attractions to explore within a short drive from your bed and breakfast. Castle Espie Wildlife and Wetlands Centre plays host to almost the entire world’s population of Brent Geese during the winter months, while Delamont Country Park is situated on the shores of Strangford Lough, offering boat trips and a canoe trail.

The St.Patrick’s Centre in Downpatrick will inform you about the life and influence of Ireland’s patron saint, while for those who wish to try something more energetic, the National Trust’s Castle Ward at Strangford now provides extensive cycle trails in addition to its range of walks. For golfers, the picturesque golf course at Mahee and the challenging Scrabo Golf Course which nestles below the famous tower, are both within easy driving distance.
